Biography: Known as one of America’s greatest songwriters, Bob Dylan’s lyrics have documented the plight of American unrest in the 1960’s and beyond. Dylan has expanded the vocabulary of popular music leading lyric-writing from “boy-meets-girl” love songs to political, philosophical and social commentaries. His music exemplifies the richest traditions of American folk, country/blues, rock’n’roll, jazz, swing and rockabilly. |

Dylan became a prominent voice of the civil rights movement, singing at rallies including the “March on Washington” in which Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous “I have a dream…” speech. With songs such as “Like a Rolling Stone”, “All Along the Watchtower”, “Lay Lady Lay”, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” and “Hurricane”, his songs have become anthems for every generation. In 1988, he joined the Traveling Wilburys album project, working with Roy Orbison, Jeff Lyne, Tom Petty and good friend George Harrison. The album, “Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1”, was immediately dubbed as one of the top 100 albums of all time by Rolling Stone.
