The Coasters Biography
| Known for their hits, “Charlie Brown” and “Yakety Yak”, the Coasters released a long series of popular hits that kept the group at the top of the charts for years. They continued to release hits such as, “Wake Me, Shake Me”, “Shoppin’ For Clothes”, “Whati A Minute” and “Little Egypt”. |
In the mid 1960’s, Earl “Speedo” Carroll of the Cadillacs joined the group as the second tenor and they went on to release, “T’Aint Nothin’ To Me” and “Let’s Go Get Stoned”.
The Coasters line-up changed many times, adding new singers and new songs and they continue to play to this day. Only Carl Gardner from the original line-up has remained. The Coasters line-up currently consists of Carl Garner, Alvin Morse, J.W. Lance, Ronnie Bright, Thomas Palmer and Carl Gardner Jr.
