OUR OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHIES

Niki Sullivan

Niki Sullivan was born in Southgate, California on June 23, 1937. He played guitar for the Crickets throughout 1957 until it was realized by Norman Petty that his role in the group was not needed due to the fact that Buddy played both lead and rhythm guitar. Niki, however, contributed to some Buddy Holly recordings by singing back-up vocals. He also performed with Buddy Holly and the Crickets at their historic appearance at the Apollo Theatre in New York City.

After Buddy’s death, Niki recorded at Norman Petty’s studio with the group "The Hollyhawks", managed by Buddy’s father, Laurence Holly.

Niki Sullivan died at the age of 66 in 2004.
