I noticed a news article here about the recent death of Johnnie Johnson -- I guess they put it up because he was a contemporary of Buddy Holly.

I'd never even heard of Johnnie Johnson before, but of course I've heard of Chuck Berry -- anyway, I did some searching on Johnnie Johnson, and his official site calls him the "Father of Rock'n'Roll". I thought that was weird, I mean, I didn't think it was necessarily Buddy, but Johnnie who?

Anyway, I thought it was weird. Does anybody think Johnnie Johnson was the "Father of Rock'n'Roll"? If not him, then who?

actually, it's chuck berry who has been dubbed 'the father of rock n' roll', which is arguable, as is the 'king' moniker that elvis had attributed to him.
