I love oldies music and espeically those one in the 90s. I was looking for some Greatest Hits album to buy the other day. I was lucky and found Amy Grant's new album "Greatest Hits 1986-2004". I was pretty excited about it cause i remember listening to her stuff a lot in the early 90s. Her song "baby, baby" stuck in my head for the longest time cause her music is very catchy! I bought the album and is great, it's worth for the money. The album not only has her greatest songs from before, it also has two new songs and a bonus CD with remix of her older songs. It's GREAT! If anyone here like 90s music, or Amy Grant! Check definitely check this album out.. it's worth it!

With more music available today than at any other time theres not the same aura around the music of the 90s.
Favorite bands from this era remain just that.No way did the 90s produce anything to touch the Beatles, not even the Second Coming of Liverpool eg the Las or Space. These would be no more than Cults
The 90s however were an important decade for another reason: the decade would see the Beatles become the biggest band in the World by the next century

I'm mostly an oldies lover, but I like some new age music as well. But the only band that really really really gets me in a super great mood is Green Day. I've been a fan since I was 8 and I think I'll be a lifer. Anyone hear their cover of "I Fought The Law?"....'tis great.

I was raised with all the 90's music on the radio, but i still love all the older stuff. I've just finished my first stint on my local student radio station where the theme of the show was 90's music, the idea was that this was the music that the majority of the people listening to the show would have grown up with!
Nikliss was right with maybe two of the best bands on teh 90's Nirvana and the Chilies, but you see I grew up and England and in the 90's we had a rush of new, amazing bands who were and of course still are such an inspiration, so according to moralsoul the best bands of the 90's in no particular order were:
Nirvana
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Oasis
Pulp
Blur
Ash
The Las
The Wanadies
Belle and Sebastian
Stereophonics
Suede
Supergrass
and of course the sublime The Verve
I don't know if many of these bands were big outside the UK so if you guys from across the pond could let me know it would be interestin to hear what you have to say
