Canada has certainly added much to the music world over the years.

there are still quite a lot I still have to add... Canada sure has her share of artists.. then again we are a pretty big place and what else are you going to do in an igloo other than write rocking music...

LOL, I totally resent that statement...for those of you who don't know, Canadians don't live in igloos unless they live in the absolute North of the country! It's hotter here in Southern Ontario than in most tropical parts of the world right now!! Our winters, however, are a different story. It is true that Canadians DO write some rocking music...sun or igloo...here's some of my favourites:

Not too sure on your Simple Plan comment. I think SUM41 have more talent than Simple Plan because of their longevity, music, lyrics and their appeal in the U.S. - As a fellow Canadian, it is true that (unfortunately) once a Canadian is recognized in the U.S.A, their fame increases in Canada. Although Simple Plan are known in the U.S., I think Sum41 are the original Canadian rockers! (and what's with the "untitled" song by Simple Plan - what kind of a "poor me" attitude is THAT?? Drives me nuts!) Simple Plan are just a copy band...but hey, that's my opinion.

WAVE?? Is that with the big forehead guy? lol...hmmm, maybe they're rocking in Alberta, but they're pretty much one hit wonders on our side of the country.

Nickleback were very hot for a while, I liked them until every new song sounded the same. And lyrics like, "feeling way too damn good" are just damn horrible!

Bryan Adams, no argument here, buddy - definitely an icon - no one can mess with him.

Avril Lavigne - you're right on that one...either you love her or hate her. But she has definite talent, despite what the nay-sayers say.

For all of you non-Canadians out there, you should defintely pick up some CD's from any of the artists listed here (despite my comments). Canada has some of the best talent out there. And our live music scene is HOT! Toronto's live scene especially!

ummmm both Simple Plan and Sum 41 suck bad..., The debate should be which one sucks more., not which one is better..
