Had an awesome time at the Brian Wilson "Smile" concert here in Seattle Sunday night. It does the heart good to see Brian at the top of his game again, and he sounds like he did in his 20s.

One full set was devoted to the long-awaited avant garde "Smile" album. Though the original 1966 Smile sessions produced such favorites as "Good Vibrations, "Heroes & Villains, and "Vegetables" - much of Brian's masterwork is stream-of-consciousness modern jazz interspersed with intricate vocal noodlings.

The lion's share of the concert, though, was devoted to the Beach Boys' mammoth catalog of pop classics: California Girls, Help Me Rhonda, Fun Fun Fun, Sail On Sailor, God Only Knows, Wouldn't It Be Nice, Sloop John B, even the more obscure, but equally catchy "Drive-In".

If Brian is making his way to your town, this is one show you will not want to miss. Backed by strings, a horn section, a good-rockin' band, and wave after wave of those signature vocal harmonies, this was the Beach Boys...only BIGGER.

I tried to get to see Brian on the Smile tour but it clashed with my exams!!!
I'm glad that he hasn't changed, i adore all the classic beach boys songs.
When i was younger my Dad used to take us all on holiday to France in the summer every year, we always used to go to the same campsite which was about a 3 hour drive after the ferry.
Anyway, it was a tradition that the whole drive there and back we would play the beach boys albums that we had over and over again!!
Thise songs bring back such good memories for me, its really nice to see Brian touring again after all those years!
