Ed Townsend
Edward Benjamin Townsend was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on April 16, 1929. He made his impact with his one single, "For Your Love". He hosted a television show in Los Angeles and wrote songs for Nat King Cole, Etta James and others. Among his writing credits are "Let’s Get It On" (Marvin Gaye), "Problem Child" (Gloria Lynne) and "You Don’t Want To Believe It (My Man)" (Joe Simon)
Ed Townsend died on August 13, 2003.
