Hank Locklin
Born Lawrence Hankins Locklin in 1918 in McLellan, Florida, he is known as one of country music’s great tenors. In 1947 Locklin formed his first band the "Rocky Mountain Boys" with Locklin on vocals and Guitar. When the band broke up a couple years later, Locklin began working on his own solo projects.
In 1953, he achieved national recognition with his number-on hit, "Let Me Be the One". He is best known for his major hits such as, "Send Me the Pillow You Dream On", "Geisha Girl" and "Please Help Me I’m Falling".
Locklin helped foster the idea of "concept" albums. His Album "Foreign Love and Irish Songs" and "Country Style" were pioneers of the "concept" album genre. In the 1970’s, he toured the U.K. and became very popular there. He is currently retired and lives in Brewton, AL.
