TOUR NOTES BIOGRAPHIES
The Roses
Consisting of David Bigham, Robert Linville and Ray Rush, The Roses were three boys from the towns of Andrews & Odessa, Texas.
Replacing The Picks, The Roses played as a backing group for Buddy Holly & The Crickets recordings for most of 1958. They appeared on "Think It Over", "Fool’s Paradise", "Lonesome Tears" & "It’s So Easy". The Roses were the only group to tour with Buddy & The Crickets as backup vocalists during Alan Freed’s Show of Stars for 1958.
Soon after, Robert was drafted into the U.S. Army, David got married and Ray disappeared after his irresponsible behavior with the group. All members lost touch until the 1980’s when the Clovis Music Festival started up and Robert tried to get in touch with the other members. Robert and David soon paired up and began playing together. Ray was proposed dead for years until he was found living in Texas in 2002, however, he never again played with Robert and David.
Both Robert and Davis organize the Clovis Music Festival and they keep busy with the Wal-Mart men’s choir and the Make A Wish Foundation.
Robert Linville passed away in November of 2001.
