Waylon Jennings Reissues
Two albums from Waylon that pay tribute to Buddy Holly are being reissued. 1976's "Are You Ready for the Country" features "Old Friend", a beautiful homage to Buddy. 1978's "I've Always Been Crazy," features a medley of Holly hits performed with The Crickets.

Lennon Rock & Roll Re-Issue
John Lennon's exceptional covers album Rock 'N' Roll will be reissued in a remastered version on September 27. It will feature four bonus tracks and a new selection of photos. Rock 'N' Roll is Lennon's tribute to his teenage idols, including Buddy Holly.

Buddy Holly guitarist Niki Sullivan dead
Niki Sullivan, who played rhythm guitar and sang backup for Buddy Holly on his early hits with the Crickets, has died. At an appearance two years ago at the museum, Sullivan recalled the uniqueness of Holly's early music when the Crickets recorded such enduring rock 'n' roll hits as That'll Be The Day and Maybe Baby, on which Sullivan's voice can be heard in the original version.
