About the car, I can't remember where I read this or heard this, (the Rave On biography by Philip Norman seems right to quote) but I believe the car is sitting in a junkyard somewhere, rusted to the point where it took them to the point of having to look at ID numbers engraved on the car to verify that this was Buddy's car, and later Larry would verify the same fact.
Am I surprised that the car has been forgotten, left to occupy some godforsaken Texas plain? After the way they've treated other Buddy places, ie his birthplace and more recently the Hi-Di-Ho, well, what can I say but not really?
And I'll add a couple more pics of the car.

Hi Buddy Blue! You're pretty close to on-the-money about Buddy's '58 Impala. There is good news, however. I believe the interior photo I have, and the exterior photos you have are POST-restoration! If you look carefully at the background, those are modern cars in the street. Here's a link to the story of Buddy's car (It's located at the bottom of the 1st page):

Quote "It still has Buddy's handprint on it somewhere' !?!?!!
Ahh but yet again, it's being put away nicely in a glass box, because it's owner does not need the use of four wheels anymore. This can be compared next to the fact that his strat strings are slowly going flat in an temperature controlled glass box.
But then again, he doesn't need wheels, cause he's got wings. He doesn't need the strat cause he's got rock 'n' roll heaven. But does he realize that we still need him?

All I know is this: Anyone who drives a PINK car freakin ROCKS!!!! It is a shame to let it go to waste...it was a beautiful car and that is true, that he doesn't need wheels he now sits at the feet of the Almighty and sings praises to him---as the Bible says, he has gone to the place that Jesus has prepared for him and he now sits at the right hand of the LORD our God...I hope we're all united one day but you do realize that things there are NOT the same as things here...But he is happier...I know that!
