I just found this web site and what a wonderful site to visit; it will become one of my favorites to visit now. I do have a question about a particular song that the Crickets recorded after Buddy passed away. I heard a Christmas song last year that was credited to the Crickets on an oldie station that I have never heard before. The song was "Deck The Halls" and supposedly can only be found a various artist Christmas album. Does anyone know about this song and the name of the album and label it is on? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

i haven't the answer you need - however, if you send a private message to Buddy Blue, she can probably track that tune down for you. or she may just direct you to Bill Griggs, the former president of the Buddy Holly Memorial Society.
if anyone knows, it would be Bill, though Buddy Blue knows a great deal about Holly and the Crickets.

Keep in mind that the Crickets were recording all kinds of stuff after Buddy's death with different singers this version of "deck the halls " is probably a tune recorded without Buddy as I am pretty sure Buddy Holly never recorded that song. How is it?

Thank you for your reply. My post indicated that this was a song that was recorded after Buddy's death. I know that Allison did the lead vocals and it sounded like the Fireballs were playing on the song. I'm just looking for the Christmas album that this song showed up on. It was a various artists release.

The album is called "the stars at Christmas" I could not find a date or label but I would say the early sixties The Crickets perform "deck the halls" on track six. The album also features Tommy Roe,the Shirelles,the Drifters,the Coasters,the Tokens,Dixie cups and more if you go to timelesstracks.com you can see the cover and track listing or buy it!
