Don't boldly assume you know the whole Waylon Jennings story until you've heard this illuminating compilation. Jennings is best known for the no-frills brand of "outlaw country" he popularized in the '70s. Some fans are familiar with his mid-to-late-'60s recordings with producer Chet Atkins, which sported a more commercial "Nashville sound." This collection of late-'50s and early-'60s recordings fills in the gaps, though, revealing Waylon's roots.
