Otherwise known as "Johnny Cougar", "John Cougar", and "John Cougar Mellencamp", John Mellencamp is known for his longevity in the recording industry. With major hits such as "Jack and Diane", "Hurt So Good" and "Pink Houses", Mellencamp has established himself as a respected artist in the music industry.

As one of the organizers of "Farm Aid", Mellencamp, along with artist Willie Nelson, started the famed organization that works to increase the awareness of the importance of family farms. In 1987, Mellencamp and Nelson brought family farmers before congress to testify about the state of family farming in America. Due to their work, Congress passed the Agricultural Credit Act of 1987 to help save family farms from foreclosure. Mellencamp is still touring and has released a greatest hits album called "Words & Music: John Mellencamp’s Greatest Hits" which includes 22 of John’s Top 40 hits of this career to date.
