This British rock and roll band rose to fame in the mid-1960’s and became synonymous with the rebellious spirit of the 1960’s. Despite the band’s problems with "sex, drugs and rock and roll", the Rolling Stones helped fuel the "British Invasion" with hits such as "(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction", "Get Off Of My Cloud", "Paint it Black" and "Sympathy for the Devil".
The Rolling Stones have become respected not only for their ground-breaking albums, but also for their longevity within the music industry. Since 2000, the Rolling Stones have released "Forty Licks", a greatest hits album that spanned their career and the band became known as one of the "50 Bands To See Before You Die", according to Q Magazine. In 2003, they headlined the "Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto", a concert in Toronto, Canada to help the city recover financially and psychologically from the effects of the 2003 SARS epidemic. The concert was attended by 450,000 people and became the largest concert in Canadian history. In 2005, the Rolling Stones will be headlining their own world tour, named the "Rolling Stones: Onstage" World Tour, bringing hot opening acts such as the Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, The Tragically Hip, John Mayer and Pearl Jam – to name a few.
