Paul McCartney
Paul McCartney, officially dubbed in 1997 as "Sir Paul McCartney", was best-known as the bassist, pianist, guitarist and one of the principle songwriters of "The Beatles". After the Beatles breakup in 1970, Sir Paul quickly launched his own solo career with his first solo release "McCartney" with vocals supported by his wife Linda McCartney.
After releasing 2 more solo albums, he moved on towards a group project in which he soon named "Wings". In 1973, their breakthrough album "Band On The Run", reached #1 four months after its release. In the 1980’s, as Wings came to an end, Sir Paul moved on to solidify his solo career in 1982 with two big duet single hits: "Ebony and Ivory" with Stevie Wonder and "The Girl Is Mine" with Michael Jackson. Since then, he has staged major world tours, released various singles and has supported serious causes such as Greenpeace and PETA. Since the passing of his wife Linda McCartney in 1998, Sir Paul has remarried former model and anti-landmines activist Heather Mills. Sir Paul McCartney continues to release solo projects such as "Run Devil Run", "Wingspan", "Flaming Pie" and "Driving Rain". In 2005, Sir Paul McCartney performed during the pre-game and half-time shows at the NFL’s Super Bowl XXXVI. He is currently working on a new album, tentatively called "Timelines".
